Customer Review: A quality STEAL at this price - definitely worth a look
This screen is a really excellent value, esp. at this price (even with the shipping charge added on, since it's an odd-shaped item). I got this to use in combo with my Mitsubishi HC1500 DLP Projector and it works well (you can buy them as a combo at Amazon, though i bought my projector separately). As others have noted, sometimes retracting it can take a couple of tries, but it will roll up into the housing. The picture thrown on it is very good, particularly the Blu-Ray hi-def image from a PlayStation that we tried it with. I mounted the screen using heavy-duty shelf brackets (to bring it off the wall, in front of the backmasking) and it works really well. I used S-hooks thru the metal clips though there are screw/bolt holes as well in the housing. A quality item at a terrific price (all in, i think this ran me around $90 including shipping).

First time I bought manual screen that u have to pull down with your hand, but after few days using it I realized that it is better to add $80 more and purchase an electric screen. This screen provides me with a pretty good quality, I have Mitsubishi HC1500 projector. I hardly suggest to buy an electric screen since it's so much easier to use!

Customer Review: The HD version can't be used on a desk where you see the back
I am extremely disappointed with this monitor. I chose it partly because of features, but also because the case was styled well and I thought would look good on a desk that is seen by anyone who enters our home. Unfortunately nothing seems to note that in the HD versions of the T260 and the T240, there is no cover for the cables in the back. And worse yet, they stick straight out the back, not down like just about every other monitor.
It seems that other than Apple's monitors which haven't been refreshed in years, no one even tries to make something that looks good 360 degrees around!
Actually quality of the picture is so for me. Very washed out and not that sharp. Was expecting to be wowed when I looked at it, but unfortunately I'm not. Debating whether to return it at this point and eat the shipping.
Customer Review: Aesthetically and technically pleasing...
This monitor is very pretty...primarily the reason I decided to buy it. Technically (contrast, brightness, etc.), its okay...only slightly above average. I found the dynamic contrast feature to be useless and the channel management for the TV function to be clumsy.
I originally bought the 22", but decided that I must get the 1080p and a swiveling base.
My biggest gripe is that the monitor does not have a VESA mount. I would have much preferred to attach it to a desktop mount.

I wish I had read Marc Anderson's review first. I was rather skeptical about this product being so helpful and useful to really calibrate an HDTV, but unfortunately, decided to waste approx. $20 and buy one (not thtough Amazon). It might be of some use to someone who has never seen a TV set before, but the average person can adjust the color, brightness and contrast, etc. to get a picture suitable to watch by going through each setting, if you don't like the manufacturer's pre-settings.I had learned that such a product was available and tried several of the rental stores first, but they weren't available yet, if they even will be. Customer Review: Effective, but mildly irritating
This is a very fundamental calibration exercise packaged with a lot of hyperbole and an embarrassingly lame music video. It is not intended for entertainment, however, and it does what it's supposed to do. The more electronically savvy user will want a more precise tool, but this one is good and inexpensive for the first-time user.

Customer Review: pretty good antenna among non-powered HDTV ones
I have tried many HDTV antennas including Terk HDTV indoor, RCA ANT1251 Indoor Antenna, RCA ANT537 Indoor amplified tv antenna, and this one. Basically, Terk and RCA 1251 were useless. It didn't matter whether those were amplified or not. Those two didn't capture more than 5 HDTV channels. RCA 537 model was pretty good. Actually, it captured 5-10 HDTV channels and more regular channels if you play well enough with rabbit ear things. However, it consumes power and I decided to try this Philips one. At first, I was disappointed since it got only 3 HDTV channels, but as I move the ring antenna and rabbit ear ones, I have successfully got more than 5 HDTV channels. It is still not as good as RCA 537 model but if you don't want to use electricity, I think this one will work as good as most of other amplified antennas. As you know, the picture quality of HDTV channels are amazing once you get the signal. Usually better than cable tv HDTV channels.
Customer Review: Works Great with Digital to Analog Converters
I recently bought a digital-to-analog converter for my TV and bought this as a cheap antennae to accompany it. A few years ago, I tried only having broadcast stations, but reluctantly bought cable because the reception was so bad with my amplified radioshack antennae. I definitely don't have that problem anymore. All of the major networks and PBS come in crystal clear. I wish I had spent the $10 on this four years ago instead of sinking all that money into cable.

Samsung LNT4065F 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV
I bought this TV for myself and then recommended it to my Mother. Now we are both enjoying vivid, bright, and colorful LCD High Definition TV. The TV is gorgeous on the stand. The sound is rich. One of the great surprises was that without a high definition cable converter box the TV finds and displays the available High Definition channels on its own. Yes the picture would be better if I did have it connected to a digital cable box but for no additional fee I can view High definition TV because of the built in converter in the TV.
I have given it 4 stars as my other high definition CRT tv still beats the LCD TV in clarity and detail.

Customer Review: Tried the rest and this is the best!
I tried 6 different indoor antennas for digitial HD reception. A Phillips rabbit ear model worked pretty well out of all of them but I had to constantly adjust the ears for each channel to obtain optimal reception. I finally decided to get an exterior antenna but the homeowners association prohibits them mounted on the roof. All the satellite dishes are mounted on a post in the ground so I bought a post, mounted the antenna, pointed it, and voila! I now have 17 digital channels when I previously had only 5! I even picked up a couple analog channels from over 75 miles away. It is supposed to be multidirectional but aiming it helps. I used a nifty feature on the www.antennaweb.org website to determine the best direction. The antenna is mounted only five feet above the ground and dosen't look half bad although I have had a couple curious comments. The reception is better than a friends digital cable on the very same TV. Perhaps the other antennas would have worked good outside as well, but the rabbit ears would have continued to be a pain. From the research I have done, exterior mounting is the best way to go. BONUS! For kicks I hooked up my FM radio receiver to the same antenna and now I get more quality stereo stations than I need. Then I decided to add another spliter and hooked up a basement TV that I had relegated to DVD use only due to poor reception. The antenna powers all three devices with no noticable reduction in picture quality on the big screen. For less than $60 this is a must buy for a low profile outdoor antenna. Three friends have purchased it on my advice and have thanked me profusely for the suggestion.
Customer Review: not for digital converter box
I installed according to directions. I have 21 local stations and 9 are digital already. When I connected this directly to the TV, it kind of worked. I got a couple of channels. When I connected it to the DTV box, I received even fewer stations than with the little internal antenna. A big total of 3, as opposed to 5 with the little internal antenna that came with the TV. I do live in a wooded area but I still think I should have been able to pick up more stations with this than without it. (And yes, I went online to properly orient the antenna.) I am glad it worked for others but it was a disaster for me and went back the same day.

Stop paying cable! SAVE $$$ This item can help you break away from Comcast. I live in the San Francisco East Bay area, about 45 miles from the signal tower (Sutro Tower) without line of sight due to the hills, but I pick up about 45 channels over the air (OTA) in HD! What's more you won't believe the clarity of HD signals on your HD TV with built-in tuner or just analog TV with a digital converter box. I have this item set up on the roof, and got my bearing by checking out my location on the Antennaweb.org website. Easy to set up, reasonable price on Amazon (if you are in the bay area, you can get this item from your local Fry's for $59 + tax). If you want to set this up on your roof, you need to purchase a mast, or simply try to set it up on your attic. This is a definitely one of the smartest things I ever purchased!
Customer Review: Works Like A Charm
As satelite TV customers, our local HD channels are not available to us as we're "within range" of the transmitters. Technically that's true but the reality is we're in an extremely heavily forested mountain valley 50+ miles from those transmitters. Normal UHF antennas were marginal for the old analog signals and clearly no match for the more finicky digial variety. The 4228 with a matching low noise, high gain, mast mounted preamp so far has acquired an additional 13 channels we had never received before, all in perfect HD and in all weather.
Is it big? Yes.
Is it ugly? Absolutely!
Does it work? For us, it works like a charm!

It works as it is designed to be. Once it is mounted outdoor, it works well. The only problem I experienced is that when the wind is blowing, the reception becomes spotty. Maybe this problem is caused by some big trees in my backyard. Interestingly, the problem only occurs on digital HD channels, not on regular analog channels.
If you use it as indoor antenna, the reception is not as good as outdoor.
Customer Review: Surprised after second location
I received the antenna from Amazon in very good time. I mounted the antenna using the supplied mast on the side of my home about 15' high. I pointed the antenna towards the broadcast towers which are about 35 miles from my home. I could only receive one station, which was a disapointment. So, I would try one more location before giving up on this small antenna. I then mounted it on the very top of the roof with a 15 degree tilt up. To my surprise, my signal meter on my tv jumped up to around 85% for six HD stations. Please take some time for proper location and you will be very happy you did. Also, very easy to mount.
